If you are planning to travel to the Peruvian jungle and visit Tambopata in Madre de Dios, you might...

wonder when is the best time to go, to have a good weather and to observe many jungle animals.

Tambopata is an exciting adventure experience that will bring you closer to the nature and wildlife in the Amazon. As a matter of fact, it is a region that can be visited all year and you can see animals in any month. Visiting Tambopata during the rainy season has its advantages, so the best time to go depends more on what you expect to see and how you would like to experience the vast jungle.

The dry season tends to be between May and October. During this time the weather is warmer, the trails are less muddy and can perform activities that are unlikely to be affected by rain, so you can find macaws and parrots on clay licks.

The wet season begins in November and continues through April, the months with more rainfall are November and December. Rain usually falls in the morning, making the evenings cooler, this encourages conglomeration of birds due to cloudy weather and can be found reptiles and amphibians easily . During this time lagoons and lakes are formed in the jungle.

It can be seen monkey species throughout the year, such as Titi from the creepers, Red Howler Monkeys in the treetops and troops of Squirrel Monkeys wandering through secondary forests. Black Spider Monkeys can be found easily in the fruit trees from which they feed.

Your tour not only depends on weather changes or long distances, but also from the guide, who will provide all the information you need and who will take you to the right places to observe animals in a timely manner. Visit Tambopata soon!
