| This program will give you an overview of
the different amazing cultures of the North part of Peru and
the diverse fauna of the dry forest including a spectacled
bear conservation project.

Itinerary
Day 01 - Trujillo
Arrival to Trujillo, reception and transfer to Libertador Hotel.
The first destination will be the Sun and Moon temples built by
the Moches. Then visit the royal palace complex of Chan Chan, built
by the Chimu culture in pre-Inca times. This enormous complex, the
largest in pre-Columbian America, is divided into nine separate
citadels.
After lunch at Huanchaco, short tour of Trujillo in the morning,
including the Casa del Mayorazgo, Casa Orbegozo, Casa de la Emancipacion,
and La Merced Church. You'll stroll along the grand central plaza
and the streets lined with colonial mansions.
Day 02 - Trujillo / Chaparri
Early depart to
Reserve in Chiclayo. On the way, visit El brujo Archaeological complex
recently featured at National Geographic because a tattooed mummy
was found by a team of archaeologist here. After lunch at local
hacienda witj a presentation of the famous Peruvian horse, depart
to Chiclayo and then to
reserve locate in the dry forest.
Day 03 - Chaparri / Chiclayo
Explore the trails at Chaparri where guides will inform you about
the different species of the dry forest and the Spectacled bear
conservation project. Then return to Chiclayo visiting Sipan archaeological
site on the way. Here the tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered.
The Lord ruled around 200 AD over the Moche culture, and his gold-laden
tomb is considered to be the richest in the Americas.
Day 04 - Chiclayo / Lima
Visit the 26 pre-Columbian pyramids of .
These pyramids were excavated by Thor Heyerdahl (of Kon-tiki fame),
who discovered burial sites, textiles, Incan figurines and depictions
of reed boats. This, together with goods from far-flung corners
of the South America, allowed Heyerdahl to prove that the ancient
people of Tucume were experienced voyagers and traders.
Then continue
to Lambayeque to visit the , considered as of of the best new museums
in the world. At appropriate hour transfer to the airport.
