The city of Chachapoyas is the capital of the department of Amazonas. It is located at 2334 m.a.s.l and on the eastern slope of the northern Andes. Here the Chachapoyas culture have left many archaeological remains like Kuelap, Revash, Karajia, etc (aquui links a los lugares).
