When you decide to have an adventure trip to the Peruvian Amazon you can find big and exotic...

animals. During the boat trip in the Manu River it is easy to spot some animals on the river banks. White alligator or common caimans (Caiman Crocodilus) lie in the shores, sometime sunbathing while a butterfly lands on their shoulders.

They are cold blooded animals, but they manage to maintain a constant temperature of 30 °C or 86 °F alternating sunbathing and swimming. Usually they inhabit in the banks of rivers and streams. The fedd themselves with a wide variety of fish and amphibians. Despite of their small size, they are the most abundant in the rainforest, the white caiman adult reaches a length of 2 meters.

When taking any of these tours : The New Manu Explorer Photo Safari,  The Newest Manu Adventurer Photo Safari, Manu Photo Safari & Beyond or Manu National Park Photo Safari. Macaw & Tarpir Clay Lick you can stay at #ManuCampWildlifeCenter where you will have special night tours to observe more caimans in their natural habitat, and how these large predators interact in the darkness of the jungle. Lighted with lanterns at a safe distance you can watch their red eyes floating on the surface of the deep river.

In the day trip to the Cocha Otorongo or Cocha Salvador with luck you'll see a small caiman on a tree at a short distance, still and basking the day without caring who are observing them or taking pictures. This is one of the many anecdotes that you can get on your adventure and tour to Manu
