The Weavers’ Way

One of the most interesting Alternative Treks is the Weavers’ Trek  that allows you to visit

attractive places such as Lares and the Andean communities of Patacancha and Willoq. On the way you will appreciate different rural communities and their different customs.

While going through the Sacred Valley you can observe the fertile lands and lanscapes. When you reach the town of Lares, you can enjoy its medicinal thermal baths.

On route to Patacancha you will make a brief stop at the beautiful lagoon Ipsaycocha, where you can appreciate the great Andean landscape around and the snowy mountains that are clsoe by..

Willoq is a small town with legendary customs, and on this trek we will cross small village to reach the archaeological remains of Qochapata and Pumamarca.

These inhabitants of these remote locations still preserve traditions in the fabric of llama and alpaca wool, growing potatoes and making handmade colorful cloths with Inca motifs. They weave textiles for daily use.

After a few days of trekking, you will arrive to Ollantaytambo, where you will spend the night and then take the train and visit the famous Machu Picchu..

This route allows to share with the local people their customs and learn about the ancient weaving technique the Andean people of #Peru.

The Weavers Trek : Lares and Patacancha (4 days & 2 nights camping + 1 night in Sacred Valley) and if you wish you can stay an additional night in Machu Picchu that will allow you a second visit to the arcaheological site and hike Wayna PIcchu.
