On 28 June 2018 we received comments from Mrs Kirstin Solorzano on The Short Inca Trail Experience
We are glad to share it.
Maria (our very attentive contact in Cusco, along with her driver) and Carlos (our marvelous guide) met with us beforehand to make sure we had everything needed for a successful journey and understood the travel details.
As we hiked through the spectacular mountains and impressive Inca ruins, we learned some of the history, building and agricultural practices, language and spiritual beliefs of the Incas from Carlos. The climax of the hike (literally and figuratively) was arriving at the Sun Gate, where we found a dazzling view of Machu Picchu, that we continued to enjoy the rest of the way down.
Watching the sun rise over Machu Picchu the next morning was as beautiful as we'd hoped. Then we got to wander through the ruins, learn more about the site and the Incas, and meet some of the local llamas. Even the lunch you arranged at the restaurant lived up to the rest of the trip!
This trip was perfect! With Carlos and Maria's guidance and attention, it surpassed our expectations, and has made for wonderful memories. Thank you!
If you would like to make this hike I am glad to let you know that it has another stock of permits so there are still spots to make your dream true.

Very close to the border between Peru and Bolivia is located the Heath River Wildlife Center, a lodge in an unspoiled jungle with an exceptional wildlife.
This special lodge has all the facilities for adventurous visitors and has an access system to two different ecosystems, one called the Pampas del Heath (Savannah), where you can watch the extensive savannah (similar to Africa with different fauna). It’ll be a great time to look up and photograph the wildlife of the place from the high vantage built in the trees, that give us the best view of the beauty landscape.KEEP READING
